Why Volunteer?

Join us in our mission of empowering pastoral communities in Kenya. Help communities break through the limits of poverty by building capacity and providing a foundation for access to basic services.

The key areas of our social intervention strategy are centered around livelihoods, women empowerment, health, water, sanitation, hygiene, education, capacity Building, governance and climate action.

VOLUNTEERING PROCESS

Our process for on-boarding volunteers and supporters is transparent and straightforward. We are always willing to accomodate your requests.

Fundraising support. Briefing on situational challenges, health & safety, introducing the MHF ground team.

We’ll assess the opportunities, communicate on costs & offer an itinerary.

Welcome to the adventure of a lifetime. At the end of your tour we will have a debrief, assess our successes and take on your suggestions for future engagements.

  • The minimum age to serve as a Volunteer is 18 years old, however, there are specific requirements for various categories Youth Volunteers & University Volunteers.
  • There may also be requirements of relevant professional and academic experience, as well as language proficiency.
  • All Volunteers must display a commitment to the values and principles of volunteerism and the pillars of MHF. Should have the ability to work in a multicultural environment and with local partners and communities.
  • They should be prepared to adjust to at times difficult living conditions in sometimes remote locations.
  • Volunteers should be empathetic, professional, with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
